We had a big snowstorm today on the first day of spring, but it still doesn't make this section of alley other than repulsive. The utility conduits do have a certain Clockwork Orange / Pink Floyd / Alan Parsons "feel" to them, but the grocery bags in the concertina wire... I'm at a loss for words (which people who know me happens maybe once in a decade!) ... all I can come up with is REPULSIVE!

Quality:This is shot from the back of the venue on a tripod with no zoom. The view never changes. As it's shot from so far away, there is no detail to the picture. There are people at the front of the stage whose heads block part of the band. But once again, it's so far away it doesn't matter. As it's the earliest video that's surfaced, it's interesting to watch. But sometimes the only stage lights that are shining are on the drummer which means the picture is really dark.

Quality: This is a nice video. This was shot mostly from the left edge of the stage. The taper does shoot from several different positions throughout the video, eventually ending up on the right side of the stage. The stage lights aren't very bright, so it's a little dark sometimes. There are no obstructions until the taper starts moving to the back of the crowd, and then over to the right, a few rows back. Then there are heads in the way. There are a few cuts in the video. The sound is thin, but okay. There are nice closeups.

Quality: Note: While this video could use a bit more light, it is not as dark as the pictures here make it appear. I just couldn't get them to come out any better than this.
Pretty nice camera work on this show. The video is shot from the left side of the venue, near the stage. The stage is very small, and the taper is standing almost next to Krist. Once in awhile you can see heads in the picture as the crowd is very enthusiastic. The sound is very good.

Quality: Beautiful pro shot video! This is multicamera, though most of the shots are from the front. During Dive the camera operator zooms in and out quickly for a short while. There are some cool overhead shots of the band. The lighting of the venue is very uneven. There are beautiful close up shots of Kurt, some semi-well lit shots of Krist, and the typical shot of Chad - you can't see him, but the drums are well lit! This is circulating in low generations.
Notes: Kurt falls on the floor for his solo during Dive. The band seems to be having a good time. Though short, this is a very nice video. There even appears to be a smoke machine at work behind Kurt.

I know I've heard that aphorism somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't find the citation. Regardless, I was struck with gritty intensity and even "beauty" (of a sort) of this alley the first time I walked it. One feels like Pink Floyd or the Rolling Stones ought to be playing on a rooftop. I love this alley. This may become a series, but so far none of the other alleys I've walked have been so intense and stunning.
