Salim Najjar allohiopets2013.mp4Salim K. Najjar, PDG District 6560, Rotary Club of Carmel, Indiana. Salim came to the U.S. from Lebanon in 1958 at the age of 17 to go to college. He attended Louisiana State University and completed his engineering studies at Tri State College in Angola, Indiana. He began his career as a bridge design engineer for the Indiana Highway Department. Salim joined the Rotary Club of Indianapolis in 1982 and served a two-year term on the Board of Directors in 1988-90. In 2001 Salim led a Group Study Exchange Team to District 4590 in Brazil. Since then he has championed the work of the Rotary Foundation and especially global projects. He served District 6560 as GSE Chair for five years. In 2003 Salim transferred his membership to the Rotary Club of Carmel, Indiana. In 2006-07 he served as President of the Carmel Rotary Club, followed by two years as Assistant Governor. He served as District Governor of Central Indiana District 6560 in 2010-2011. He is currently an Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator for Zone 30.
