Nico Tapic was born a congenital amputee, without hands and feet. He is an energitic and postive Filipino teenager. He wishes to be fitted with artificial hands and feet but his family's economic situation make it impossible. This six minute film has been made to attract medical missions and prothetics limbs donors who can help fit Nico with artifical limbs. Written and filmed by Dunc Coleman. copyright 2008. As @ late July 2011, Physicians For Peace.org have granted a prosthetics treatment program for Nico starting in December 2011. When they met talented veterinarian Wilford Almoro, they were amazed at his dedication in caring for stray animals. For a professional of his caliber, they knew he could be earning a decent income for himself and his family if he had worked in an upscale animal care hospital or clinic. In my partnership with Inova Health System to promote fitness and wellness to the greater DC area, I recently had the pleasure to travel to Manila, the capitol of the Philippines. What an exciting trip – I was able to meet many people. Imagine – every morning, I would go out onto the streets at 5:30 am and people were everywhere, walking and exercising.
