Director John Huston, while a member of the U.S. Army Signal Corps in 1943, creates an Academy Award winning documentary, which he narrates with assistance from his actor father Walter, treating of the Armed Forces' successful effort to prevent the fall of the Aleutian Islands to advancing Japanese troops who had captured several islets. Although no claim can be reasonably made that this location was of major strategic importance during the War, it presented enormous tactical and logistic difficulty for those assigned there, and Huston's color film demonstrates the determined ensemble work upon the outpost of Adak by a wide range of military specialists who combat loneliness and boredom along with notably severe weather conditions.

David Reimer 1965-2004 (birth name Bruce) was born an identical twin in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At 6 months of age both boys were mistakenly diagnosed with phimosis, a natural condition of the infant penis. The so-called doctor Jean-Marie Huot botched the first circumcision completely destroying Bruce's penis. Twin Brian's circumcision was canceled; he made a full recovery from his "condition" of phimosis, without further treatment. As a teenager David learned from his father what had happened. I just came back from NAB (the National Association for Broadcast) in Las Vegas Nevada and Central State University, in Wilberforce Ohio. I was covering the 5 day event in Vegas for my technology podcast and weeks before I was asked to speak at Central State which is my Alma Mater. Both were an honor to attend. Anyway after I spoke at Central for communications week I decided to go around campus armed with my camera. I started interviewing students and I was pleasantlly surprised with the results. During my travels I found this young man by the name of Rick Black, who happens to be a communications major and I asked him his thoughts on the industy. He is a poet and in a poetic moment he decided to freestyle his thoughts. I was impressed with him and I'd like to share his words with this clip.

The stooges are dance instructors sent by a movie company to a tropical island to teach the natives how to dance so they can appear in a movie. The boys run into trouble with the local witch doctor who wants to add their heads to his collection. The stooges defeat the witch doctor with hand grenades they swipe from a multi-armed idol, and get on with the dancing lessons. This particular Shemp film is one of my favorites. One of the funniest scenes is when Shemp is hiding under a bed and trying to keep quiet while a baby alligator crawls up his leg. This short was released in 1951.

After being pursued by many armed assassins, and being grazed in the ear, he delivers the boy to another holy man. The Driver however sees through the disguise, defeats the holy man, and rescues the boy and several other holy children.
