SVTAGS - "5 Feet from the Moon" Art Studio Silicon Valley Technology, Art, Green & Sustainability talk show with host and Executive Producer Heather Durham. Episode guests are from the artist studio “5 Feet From the Moon.” Artists Katrina King and Dominic Boinich have had amazing careers on their own, which I have been following the past 5 years and now as a couple they started the art studio “5 Feet From the Moon”. Katrina I met at “Sunset’s House of Innovation” when she had an art fire pit that she made from metal installed in the house in 2006. Dominic worked managing a metal art studio owned by a famous architect locally. (Can you guess who that architect is?). Together they are now creating some amazing work in Santa Cruz! Their specialty and main focus is concrete and metal, and they design, build and create custom concrete countertops, fireplace surrounds and furniture. When not working in concrete they usually are working in metal, fabricating a wide variety of objects which include gate, firepits, lighting, garden adornments, furniture and large scale public art. These artists thrive on challenging themselves and pushing the limits further with each job.
