Nisira TeanbutrNisira Teanbutr’s favorite authors, once wrote, “Supposing is good, but finding out is better.” Teanbutr’s passion for exploration has often reflected Mr. Twain’s comments. An avid traveler, Nisira Teanbutr has visited locations throughout Europe and Asia. While these travels have offered the chance to see many stunning sites, Teanbutr has especially enjoyed trips to England, France, Italy, Thailand, and Japan. Such travels to remote destinations have provided the opportunity to experience some of the world’s most unique and interesting cuisines. These culinary delights have helped Teanbutr to develop a passion for gastronomy, the science of eating, and they have inspired experimentation such as combining foods from different regions of the globe. Such legendary chefs as Wolfgang Puck and Ken Hom helped to pioneer the concept of modern fusion cuisine, which combines aspects from different culinary styles and traditions. One of the most common examples of this type of cuisine, Asian fusion, became a Hollywood culinary trend after Wolfgang Puck began using California-grown ingredients to create traditional Asian dishes, which were prepared using French cooking techniques at his restaurant Chinois. Since European and Asian cuisine rank as two of Teanbutr’s favorites, this excitement about fusion allows for many creative combinations of each style into new dishes. Nisira Teanbutr’s love of exploration also explains an interest in documentaries about the workings of the mind. Teanbutr greatly enjoyed watching such films as A Brilliant Madness: John Nash, which tells the story of a math genius’ battle with mental illness. Other favorites include Alone: The Brain, Sensory Deprivation and Isolation; and Beautiful Minds: The Psychology of the Savant.
