Oh, you are tempting fate with that name. Well, it worked for Queen, Destiny's Child and quite a few other bands. Let's see if they can live up to it or not.
IN A TIME! of great competition. ONE BAND! dares to steal the voice of that movie announcer guy. COMING THIS SUMMER! A band you'll never forget! Until the next trailer anyway. :p Filmed at a TNG event.
Is it just me, or did the audience simultaneously get both older and younger all of a sudden? Interesting that the youngest band would draw the biggest fanbase here.
In which I get a sense of deja vu from the last all-dayer I did, as Ashley does another short, wispy-voiced set. Well, the girls seem to like it anyway.
A proper synth band using big banks of keyboards instead of just one and a laptop? Haven't seen one of those in aaaages. Let's see what kinds of cool sounds they can coax out of them.
In which we have one of those bands which switch instruments for every song. Music is in whatever you have lying around at the time, not just expensive studios.
And so we reach the end of the day. On time, and with no cancellations or schedule shuffles as well, which definitely deserves some kudos. Even the final act doesn't string out their performance.
In which we start out quiet, and I worry that the music won't punch over the background noise. Turns out it's just to make the choruses sound even bigger.
The Fleece regularly does 8 hour, 10 band shows on Sundays. This week, they decide to try something even more ambitious and do 20 acoustic acts in 10 hours. I'm definitely interested in seeing if they can pull that off. First up, we have some loopstation fun, which shows it still won't be entirely acoustic guitar singer songwriter stuff, thank god.
After a long day, much of the audience have already gone home. They ought to regret that decision, because our last act absolutely dominate the stage with their outfits and dance moves.
Old school live drum and bass sounds fronted by a sexy secretary? Yes please. After a whole load of guitar bands, we're finally getting the electronic music I came here for.
In which I go to one of the fleece's all day events, to film 10 bands over 8 hours. That should give my equipment a good workout. First up, here's Wayne creating drum loops with both hands and sticks to fill out his songs.
In which I again have the fortune of catching a band's very first gig. Which means I have no idea what to expect. Infinite possibilities. Until the first note is played.
