A Hop, Skip and a Drive AwayAccording to the American Automobile Association, the traditional two-week summer vacation road trip is becoming a thing of the past. But the call of the open road is still loud.
The AAA has found that people like to take shorter trips now, for several reasons. One, it’s more economical and two, it’s more convenient than trying to get away for two weeks, especially since Americans are more pressed for time than ever before.
It’s important to make sure your vehicle is in its best condition before you leave. There are simple things you can do yourself in order to prevent this. You can fill washer fluid to the top, and you can also fill up on engine coolant. Oil is the life blood of the engine, so check the oil level and if necessary, fill that to the top as well. If you feel your car needs a more thorough inspection, beyond easily filled fluids, for items such as tires, belts and hoses, take your car to a dealership before you hit the open road.
