3 new Star Wars waves of figures, a new wave of GI Joe figures and martians attack toy collectors. This is Articulation Times.

Meet nine-year-old Benjamin Kritzer. Growing up in 1950s Los Angeles, Benjamin believes that his parents are Martians, his brother is psychotic, and that he’s being followed by Bad Men. Benjamin’s father sits at home in a pajama top and nothing else, while Benjamin’s mother is given to punishing Benjamin with a wooden hanger. However, Benjamin doesn’t let anything get him down, and greets each day with wonder and a uniquely Benjamin sense of humor. But when he meets nine-year-old Susan Pomeroy, his entire world changes, as he and Susan embark on a relationship that is totally magical. Hilarious and touching, Benjamin Kritzer is a valentine to growing up in a more innocent time, a valentine to a child’s ability to persevere, and a very unexpected love story.

SamSam is worried about growing up because he is worried no one will want to play with him if he does. He goes to the Martians to find out how they stay small, what is their secret.....?

This funky 50's cartoon features a fine blend of anti-communist and pro-capitalist sentiment, not surprisingly produced by the American Petroleum Institute. A leader of cartoon martians named Colonel Cosmic comes to Earth to find out why humans are such efficient creatures. He does a little research at the local library and finds out that the secret to our success is free enterprise and oil. Such rampant oil propaganda and anti communism was common at the time. The benefits of the free enterprise economic system come as quite a surprise to him Colonel Cosmic, since his home government looks a lot like the Communist government of the Soviet Union, led by the evil Mr. Ogg, a totalitarian leader. Colonel Cosmic goes back to Mars and initiates a revolution, overthrowing the Ogg government. Soon, lots of small businesses and wildcat oil drillers are in business and Mars is starting to look a lot like Earth. Destination Earth is a more amusing piece of Cold War history.

The Stooges are evicted by their landlady for cooking in the rooming house. Searching for a new apartment, the Stooges travel to Professor Danforth's house in Lompoc, who is convinced that Martians will soon invade Earth, and persuades the boys to help him guard his new invention... a military craft with the ability to move on the ground like a tank, in the air like a helicopter The Stooges sneak onto the craft and attempt to stop the Martians!

One of the worst (and best!) movies ever made, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians blasts Old Saint Nick into space to deal with grumpy aliens! Oozing campy fun, this film is a celebration of ridiculous costumes, cheap sixties sets, and absurd dialogue. But unlike other classic “bad” films like Killer Clowns from Outer Space, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians succeeds as a family film with its wholesome themes and loveable characters. The Martians are more “grumpy” than evil, and many of them are sympathetic. Santa Claus Conquers the Martians truly is fun for the entire family: the kids are wrapped up in a story with Santa and space, and the adults laugh themselves silly.
