A very dark, strange, mysterious piece, although one of my favorites by the 20th century Russian composer, Alexander Scriabin. This was recorded on a Hamburg Steinway piano. Sorry that the camera was so far away.

A very short and humorous 12-tone piano piece I put together.

One of two performances with the orchestra after winning the concerto competition. We play the 1st movement of the Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor and then I play transcendental etude no 1 by Franz Liszt as an encore.

This is an original piece for piano and electronics. This is the second movement named after the constellations, Triangulum and Leo Minor.

This is from the anime, Air. It has a such a beautiful, memorable melody. I loved playing this and getting a recording of it put together!

After getting into minimalism recently I decided to take my first shot at writing a minimalistic piece. It is inspired both by the piece Phrygian Gates by John Adams and the picture shown at the beginning of this video. The performer is myself on piano.

Here I play Olivier Messiaen's L’alouette Calandrelle (Short-toed Lark) from book 5 of Catalogue d'oiseaux (catalog of birds). This piece is based on bird songs and other sounds that Messiaen heard while he was visiting the desert of the Crau. Here are the times of the first introductions of the various birds and creatures heard throughout the piece: 0:06 - Short-toed Lark 0:30 - Chorus of Cicadas 0:38 - Lesser Kestrel 0:43 - Quail 1:14 - Crested Lark in counterpoint with the Short-toed Lark. 3:49 - The Skylark Hope you enjoy it!

Here I am playing Wind Crest ~The Three Trails~ from the Final Fantasy X-2 piano collections book. This was recorded on a Hamburg Steinway concert grand in a very good hall. I recorded this many years ago but it was not very good. This is a much, much better recording. Thanks for listening!

My first, of hopefully more to come, from the Kingdom Hearts Piano Collection. I regret never playing any of the Kingdom Hearts games, it sounds like they had great storylines and fantastic music. Two of my favorite things in video games. I may never play it but that doesn't mean that I can't play the music from it.

This piece is from an album called Songs from A Secret Garden. I believe the music on the album was written by Fionnuala Sherry & Rolf Løvland. I very much recommend listening to the original version of this piece if you can, it is very beautiful.

A very simple piece of music but very pretty. It was written by Yuki Kajiura. I like a lot of her work. I have never seen the anime that this is from, I stumbled on this music during one my anime/video game music listening adventures. Also, if you're wondering why it's dark it's because I forgot to turn on the lights before I started recording :) Enjoy!
