Award-winning Russian filmmaker Sergei Bodrov (PRISONER OF THE MOUNTAINS) illuminates the life and legend of Genghis Khan in his stunning historical epic, MONGOL. Based on leading scholarly accounts and written by Bodrov and Arif Aliyev, MONGOL delves into the dramatic and harrowing early years of the ruler who was born as Temudgin in 1162. Directed by the first rate Fritz Lang, Scarlet Street is film noir at its finest. Nimrod Rising is a book that seeks to answer where the terrorist scourge that currently plagues the world came from. The premise of the book is that the evil hitting the world is more than just a political phenomenon. In this film, a young writer is having problems finding his inspiration and is badly in need of a vacation. He leaves in his vehicle for a camping trip for a few days to renew his motivation. While visiting Lake Michigan, he becomes smitten by a pretty young lady who is painting a portrait. However, he knocks over her painting, making her very angry. He continues on his way from Lake Michigan and runs into the young lady and her father, who are both on the road and having car problems. Their car is ruined, but the young writer volunteers to drive them around the Midwest to explore while she paints the region. They see many unique sites throughout the Midwest, including beautiful state parks, natural landmarks, and unique historical attractions. This short video documents a painting my father did in 1954, when he and my mother were first dating. So goes the house, goes the painting. Dad still paints, but with words in fine calligraphy.
