The stooges are census takers. They start census taking in an apartment and run into a whole lot of trouble when they try to get the census information from a married woman. She tells them that she has an insanely jealous knife-throwing husband who will try to kill anyone that even speaks to her! When the husband comes home the Stooges try to hide, but he discovers them and a wild chase goes on. After taking a little abuse from the husband's egg shooter the stooges escape on scooters. 1951

It has been a wild wild time in the stock market. We had a big downward movement in the stock market since Jan and we have had an incredible turnaround since last week. A big contributor to this turnaround was the US Federal Reserve cutting interest rates by 75 basis points. It looks like we may have hit a short term bottom for now and the stock market may head higher from here. For Active traders, we'll ride the uptrend as high as possible and get off when the trend ends. Happy Trading!!!

Another segment of the Coney Island film this one features a wild tiger act. Watch as a the brave animal trainer works with the huge jungle cats. He dances with one (not quite cheek to cheek) and even pries open the jaws of one and sticks his head in it’s mouth. A vicious range war is about to breakout between the sheepherders and the cattle ranchers! In Marked for Murder, only the heroic Texas Rangers can set things to rights. The film is filled with everything a Western should be: prairies, canyons, cowboys, guns, murderous outlaws, and beautiful damsels. There’s even some fine country western guitar and singing thrown in for good measure! When the rangers, lead by Charles King, go to settle the matter between the ranchers and herders something’s not quite right. It seems that neither side can agree on who started the feud. The Rangers then get tricked by a clever decoy that keeps them busy long enough for the real criminals to sneak into town and cause more trouble, with both each side blaming the other side. It’ll take shooting, smarts, and cowboy grit to clear it all up, and that’s exactly what the Texas Rangers have in spades in Marked for Murder.

One of the best entries in the long running “Hopalong Cassidy” series, Lumberjack is another classic from William Boyd playing the famous cowboy hero. Shot in the beautiful California with plenty of redwoods in the area, Lumberjack features a lively Cassidy riding proudly and always doing the right thing as a clean cut cowboy. The trouble concerns a young widow whose husband was murdered for the rights to a large timber estate. Cassidy takes a liking to the damsel in distress and works to reveal the assassins. Fortunately, plenty of gunfights become necessary! Lumberjack is a straightforward story from a straightforward cowboy, and this quality is what made Hopalong Cassidy as identifiable a Wild West star as Gene Autry and Roy Rogers.

Colonel Tim McCoy plays the title role in Lightning Carson Rides Again. A Wild West romp through picturesque countryside, McCoy fills the saddle and the cowboy hat rather well. But what he excels at is busting up gangs of bad guys. A lawman that doesn’t waste his time with varmints, McCoy is out to solve a murder charge that he believes is a frame job. The gang he suspects is Mexican, so McCoy poses as a Latino himself to infiltrate them. The plan is working to perfection and McCoy is gathering evidence – until he’s discovered! All heck breaks loose, and McCoy must battle it out and set things right. Great fights, great scenery, and a great story make Lightning Carson Rides Again a superb Western adventure.

Johnny Mack Brown was an All-American college football player who became a Wild West sensation as soon as he took the saddle! In Lawless Land, Brown is a Texas Ranger who suspects a villainous plot in a small Texas town. When the sheriff is murdered, Brown elects to not reveal his status as a lawman and ferret out the killer. A spurious mix of crisp action and devious plotting follows, as Brown must ward off jealous lovers of saloon vixens and surreptitiously uncover the murderer. The gorgeous Louise Stanley is implicated in this vile scene, and her moments with Brown are priceless. Lawless Land is action action action, with no let downs before Brown rides off into the sunset.

A quintessential depression cinema escape, Law of the Rio Grande is an hour of nothing but honest good fun in the Wild West. Bob Custer and Edmund Cobb were stars of silent cinema and adapt well here in this early talking Western. Custer plays a former outlaw who’s trying to live an honest life. He gets set on the right path by the gorgeous Betty Mack who wants to save him. But Custer’s skeletons don’t want to stay in the closet when an old gang member threatens to ruin his newly earned good name. Law of the Rio Grande features snappy dialogue and a fast story. It was a wonderful way to be free of the woes of the great depression and is a pleasant good time today as well.

Storage warehousemen Moe, Larry & Shemp take delivery of Mr. Bradley's shipment of Arabian souveniers and china. In a crate that they accidentally drop, Shemp finds a lamp... and its resident "genius," whom Shemp names 'Amos' (Wesley Bly). Two Arab assassins arrive to retrieve the lamp, and when Bradley orders the crates delivered to his house, follow the Stooges to the residence to kill them. A wild chase ensues, with everyone playing a game of hot-potato with the lamp, and the Stooges trying to summon 'Amos' to their rescue. Three Stooges Short Film

Dementia: Daughter of Horror is one of the most innovative horror movies ever made. Akin to Lynch’s Eraserhead and Polanksi’s Repulsion, this film is a dark decent into madness and confusion – truly horrific. Other then the narration by Ed McMahon, there is no dialogue. And yet the characters are developed, interesting, and frightening. Adrienne Barrett is the lead as a young girl journeying through a wild night in the city where murder and gore are commonplace. Is it real? Barrett doesn’t know and neither does the viewer. A creative masterwork that creates terror without any of the usual cheap props, Dementia: Daughter of Horror is an enduring classic of its genre.

Moe, Larry, and Shemp run a furniture store. Miss Scudder, a customer Moe's sweet on, calls up and wants them to move some furniture to her house because some new boarders are arriving. At her house the Stooges commit a lot of bloopers before they discover that the boarders are thieves. A wild chase goes on until one crook is shot in the butt, and two henchmen beat up Larry and Moe. But not to worry, the police come and save the boys in time. 1950

The Stooges are artists who fall in love with three models, Larraine, Moella and Shempetta. They go to ask their father for their hands in marriage, a request he denies when he recognizes them as the "hoodlums" that accosted him earlier. After a wild chase around the house, the Stooges finally change his mind by tickling his feet and they marry the girls. The Three Stooges played all the parts in this film. 1950

A quick video in tribute to my family's most recent trip to the Wildlife World Zoo. The music in this is by Joel Gamble, titled "Khentet", and is from the "Bushi Tales" soundtrack. The footage used was shot by me on a Sony Handycam. Everything was edited together using Pinnacle Studio 10 Ultimate and a few hours of my time. Enjoy!

Thrilling and action packed, Rouge of the Range stars football star turned Hollywood hero Johnny Mack Brown. Brown first entered Hollywood because of his sports fame, impressive athletic physique, and dashing good looks, but he would also become one of the best acting Western heroes of the day. Rouge of the Range finds Mack in his acting prime, affable and audacious as Dan Doran, a clever undercover government agent. Mack surprisingly begins the film by robbing a stagecoach! Once in jail, he buddies up with a local gang member and the two bust out of the joint together. Now that Mack has the respect of the gang, he’s ready to take them down. Rouge of the Range sizzles with muscle, grit, and really fun fistfights.

The greatest of all singing cowboys, Roy Rogers returns to action in Rough Riders’ Roundup, an exciting Wild West adventure. Rogers, assisted by his gang the Rough Riders, is working for the Texas border patrol when he is confronted by a vicious band of criminals who rob stagecoaches. As with most Rogers’ films, in between the action there’s always time for some good old country songs, and in both activities The King of the Cowboys doesn’t disappoint. The marvelous Mary Hart is the leading lady, and her duets with Rogers light up the screen. Rough Riders’ Roundup is a well made barrel of Old West fun.
