The objective in the middle of the hysteria is to elicit statements from the son, keep the mother from contaminating the crime scene by going back in the apartment, and asking the mother what happened to implicate the son. Darren Chaker accomplished all the above while everyone else stayed behind locked doors.
On October 7, 2009, Nikola Chivatchev was arrested for allegedly murdering his father. While visiting a girl friend, Darren Chaker heard a woman screaming, as did the entire apartment complex. However, no one but Darren Chaker responded to her screams and helped.
While a cadet in the police academy, Darren Chaker, broke rank and went to the San Diego City Council to disclose what we know now as Racial Profiling.
