The Venom symbiote returns to Earth and reunites with Eddie Brock. He is ordered by Dormammu to steal a machine from Stark Enterprises capable of releasing Dormammu from his dimension. When Venom battles Spider-Man and War Machine, he is easily defeated. He soon gets help from Cletus Kasady, who has bonded with another symbiote.

Peter's search for Mary Jane leads him to an evil cult led by a man called Baron Mordo, who wants to release his master, Dormammu, from another dimension. Baron Mordo steals the Wand of Watoom which will free Dormammu. Spider-Man teams up with Doctor Strange and his sidekick Wong, to stop him.

Peter believes his luck is changing for the better when Wilson Fisk hires Peter for a job. Fisk frames him for a federal crime, but Peter's lawyer is Matt Murdock.

The Punisher comes to New York to deal with a mutating Spider-Man, blaming him for the attacks on New York.

Morbius attempts to use the Neogenic Recombinator to turn everyone else into a vampire. Spider-Man and Blade manage to stop him, but Morbius' mutation worsens. Morbius kidnaps Felicia Hardy in order to transform her into a vampire. Blade and Spider-Man discover Morbius' hideout and interrupt him long enough for Felicia to force him give up his plans.

Pilot Episode Peter's science teacher, Dr. Curt Conners, transforms himself into The Lizard, and Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson offers $1,000 for a photo.

Spider-Man comes across an alien symbiote that attaches itself to him and forms a new black costume.
