In the second part of the video, it is mid morning and slammer trophy codfish have been pulled off one of Captain Paul Forsbergs VALLEY OF THE GIANTS favorite wrecks. As the day wears on, the fishing slows as the tide starts to run on Georges Bank, and the boat proceeds to make the 150 miles plus trip back to Montauk Point. The pool fish are being weighted up, and a amazing collection of Viking sized cod are displayed, with 50lbs being put back into their coolers as 60lb plus fish battle over the pool. Filmed in Nov 1987 onboard Montauks VIKING STARSHIP, the largest super cruising party boat ever built, they encounter brutal weather conditions and are forced to fish off Nantucket Island on the 1st day. As the weather lets up during the night, Capt. Paul Forsberg runs the Viking further east onto Georges Banks to an area he pioneered cod fishing, THE VALLEY OF THE GIANTS, where the largest codfish are caught. Watch as the only documented video of codfish over 40lbs right upto and over 60lbs, are caught.
