This took a bit of doing but finally tweaked the Zorin Menu so that you can choose the Menu box that you want, not just the standard Zorin one - sadly no joy (yet!) on changing the button to what you want. The 'Meta Key' windows key launch of the menu now works! Enjoy! This is a video on how to adjust Assistive Technology elements that are part of Compiz - normally associated with cube effects etc. Not enough attention appears to be given to the free Assistive Technology that is also present here so hopefully this video will redress the balance! I shall be doing a video on Orca to follow up - that is the Screenreader that comes with all GNU/Linux distributions. Currently I have based this video on Zorin 6.0 Ultimate - but it is also present in Ultimate Edition 3.4 which is more geared to Assistive Technology from the outset - you have to be logged in to Zorin before you can make any changes! Music can be switched off if you want - just mute it - all music is Creative Commons and taken from Battle for Wesnoth 1.10.

In this video I have attempted to show that it is possible to be as effective in creating pictures/clipart in LibreOffice Draw equally as well as proprietary software on the market. It is running on Zorin OS4 which I customised by installing Alienware Linux theme (.deb package).

This video was uploaded to help a member of the Sheffield Forum how to burn an iso using imgburn after first checking the md5checksum matches that provided by the website. It is usually a .txt file named md5checksum.txt - Cheated in the video just to show how to do it. Then make sure the speed setting is set to slowest to ensure good burn of image - can verify but takes longer - I usually just select 'eject tray'. Links: www.winmd5.com www.imgburn.com

I made a 'linux swap' partition of 512 Mb - you will see in the video that I clicked on 'Primary' first-off in error - no worries - there is always the 'revert' button if you make a mistake - which is what I did - always make your swap files a 'logical' partition if you want to have more than 2 or three Operating Systems on your computer. DON'T create a new Partition Table.

Response to a query on the Zorin forums on how to change the font size in the panel - It is just like Windows in that it is a system wide change.

A transitional video - burying YouTube and celebrating Veoh!

This is a video response to a member on a 'local forum to where I live who asserted that 'nothing is that easy in (GNU/) Linux' and intimated that I was being economical with the truth - so as me dear old Dad used to say "What can't speak, can't lie"! Enjoy! Apologies if the video is a bit fast - I mistakenly increased the frame-rate from 15 per second to 25 in the settings of 'recordmydesktop' - superior in respect of sound capture compared to 'Kazamscreencaster' but not as versatile as Kazam (IMHO). This version of GNU/Linux did not allow 'Ctrl+ Alt+ T' to launch the 'Terminal' - had to go through the menu to launch 'Terminator' - could have launched it via Alt+ F2 (run dialogue) then entering 'Term... - which would have autosuggested Terminator.
