Winnipeg Jets Last Ever Regular Season Home Game vs L.A Kings 04/12/96 Part 2/16 JHendrix70 Subscribe 536 Add to Share More 2,813 9 0 Uploaded on Mar 31, 2009 This was the Last Ever Regular Season Game held in Winnipeg at the Arena. The date was April 12th/1996 and with the playoffs looming, the Jets would need to win this game in order to clinch a playoff spot. They could have finished as high as 4th and no worse than 8th however, when the season ended they finished in 8th place in their division only to have to play against yet another great NHL Franchise in the Detroit Red Wings. For a Regular Season game, this had it all. Amazing Fans all dressed in white to prepare themselves for the Whiteout Playoffs awaiting them, lots of goals, great goaltending, appearances by Jet Favorites Bobby Hull and Thomas Steen plus Keith Tkachuk's 50th goal of the season coming with less than one-second left on the clock. This was a game that once again would show the true class of the Winnipeg fans who came out to support their team knowing full well they were already slated to start the next season in Phoenix. Fans could have stayed home in protest but instead, the game was sold out for months and is one of the more memorable Jets games in History. This would be the 2nd last win ever in franchise history on Winnipeg Arena Ice.
