I was present during this shoot as an english speaking interviewer for a swiss film team in Sudan.
The airport is on the border of Kenya and Sudan at a U.N. outpost called Lokichoggio. It was the first time (and the last, I hope) I had an AK-47 assault rifle stuck to my head for taking photos of a woman building her roof.
From Lokichoggio, food drops and aide fly to distribution sites in the Sudan war zone.
We spent two weeks in the war zone of Sudan filming and interviewing members of the Medair ONG hospital unit that had eariler been bombed from the River Nile, 20 miles south by the southern faction.
We were able to spend a full day with these pilots and the aircraft, one of the most enjoyable days of our voyage.
Note, the point in this video where the plane flies overhead... sent us and the cameras rolling!!! What a fun adventure.

After watching the events unfold in Burma it made me and others look at how many others have been killed by the out of control Military junta, but as ever with this you then start to look back at all wars and find the numbers killed staggering.
Its not easy to give a full total but its around 3/4 hundred million since 1914 the reason for the difference is official and local figures given by aid workers and hospitals, but if its 3 or 400 million makes no difference either way too many have died.
Its the intent to make this a visible and peaceful event to show the military / Arms industry and governments around the world we want peace.
The U.N is not working so we have to do it our selves, while the U.N sit in there glass tower dithering people are being killed. Its time they listened to us the people who want peace
