Sanyetta and Gary's 1st Hot Air Balloon Ride 7/23/2012Alright everybody, my Sis & I survived the hot air balloon(aerostat as Bob calls it) ride. We took off at 5:55am (5 is the number of grace, Father, Son, Holy Spirit :) from a field near the municipal airport in Tehachapi. We went up to 1500ft. for about 50 minutes, the good Lord blessed us with good wind today. Thank you Jesus that I didn't bust the gondola :) It held me just fine. Later I said, man, maybe that's the closest I would get to an ascension Amen. Bob (aeronaut) said he has been doin' this for over 30 years. He said 15 years ago he went up to 28,000ft. to test out whether or not the pilot heater needed oxygen to stay lit. Well, it didn't and worked just fine. He said (I can't recall the altitude) at a certain feet above ground you need partial oxygen, at around 18,000ft. or 19,000ft. up you need full oxygen, at 31,000ft. your blood boils and you explode, so you have to wear a pressurized flight suit. Well, he was 3,000ft. from there Amen, you can see the curvature of the earth at that altitude, he said he saw islands, San Fransisco and different continents that high up. They even gave us champagne(my choice) to toast at the end of the trip and gave us a pin and a flight certificate. Awesome day, thank you Jesus, thank you Sis, birthday present finally arrived :) What a great day :) Thank you Jesus 7/23/2012
