In 1987, our first year at PRF as Artistic Directors, Brian and I created and directed a series of Elizabethan Feasts for the holiday season. What a talented lineup of actors and performers we had! After seeing a number of other feasts, including the franchised Medieval Feasts (at the huge Meadowlands where the Queen standing at the entrance and posing with each patron for photographs to be purveyed later, was queried by Dave Donovan, "What's your name?" "I don't know," she replied, "No one ever asked me before.") and the Feast at Bube's (two performers and lots of negative assumption), we wanted ours to be better theatre. With our peerless ensemble and the $500 budget bequeathed by the Grand Duke, this series of shows was the result, and made alot of people happy.

Ron Haynes and Ken Bradley turn in especially fine performances as Montressor and his hapless friend Fortunato who has unwittingly insulted him, in Poe's instructional chiller about a dish best served cold. One of my favorite live performances of all time, certainly one of the best shows produced under the artistic direction of Dennis Johnson and Brian Belge, and fortunately for all of us, I witnessed it from behind a video camera. Kudos, gentlemen!

Director and animator, Dan Meth, photographed Via Audio live and used sequenced, long exposure photos as a compliment to his original animated doodles. This series of videos was shot on a frozen creek in Indianapolis. The biggest challenge was getting enough recording time without "city sounds" interfering. It was quite cold too... this was the artistic equivalent of ice fishing! The best use of these is to set them to loop and just relax to the sight and sound. Indeed, such was my intent when I shot them. My disabled wife just loads them up on her computer and has WMP play them over and over. I shot them just a few yards from her sick bed, but she's not stable enough on her feet to negotiate the ice, rocks, and snow to get there, so I brought the creek to her to soothe her. I hope you find them soothing as well! The camera was a simple Aiptek camcorder set to macro. For the night shots, I used the built in LED light. I mounted the camera on a tripod, and myself on a rug on the ice to keep from freezing (it didn't help much.)

Beautifull Maria Mena Live in X-Factor Greece. - Maria Mena was born into an artistic family. Her mother wrote plays and her father Charles was a drummer. Both Mena and her brother Tony are named after characters from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story. Her father played in several bands in Oslo, which influenced Mena towards music.
