Idéen till kortfilmen "Mannen på bilden hyllar följade" kom till en hösteftermiddag 2009. Mannen på bilden vaknade upp på sin soffa efter att ha tagit en tupplur och kände att någonting fattades honom. Han skruvade upp sina truckar och gjorde dom "lösa", så "lösa" att han kände en nervositet när han närmade sig parkeringshuset. Dom var så "lösa" att dom nästan när som helst skulle kunna falla av. Mannen på bilden visste att om detta skulle inträffa så skulle det vara det sista han gjorde. Mannen på bilden gjorde aldrig något "halvdant". Det var alltid 100% fullt ut. Precis innan han lämnade sitt hem den dagen hade han dammat av sitt Doug Martschporträtt som prydde väggen i vardagsrummet. Genom att behandla Doug Martsch med vördnad så visste han på något oförklarligt sätt att truckarna skulle hålla. Han hade rätt. Mannen på bilden gjorde den här dagen några av sina livs bästa slajjdar och euforin som bubblade upp inom honom när åken var klara visste inga gränser. Timmarna strax efter föll den första snön och garaget skulle komma att återigen stå ensamt. Det var den sista dagen. Den sista dagen.

I like to get out and meet the public relations people behind many of the big successes in the mobile industry. Whilst a lot of media colleagues are rather traditional when it comes to PR ('never make them the story, always slam the phone down on at least one PR chap every week to keep'em keen'), I have a different perspective. They perform a much needed role -- and they're often hugely, hugely useful when MIR readers are trying to get contacts at some of the industry giants. For instance, I referred at least three people to Alexis Dalrymple of Hotwire PR during the MIR Mixer event last week. Each reader was hoping/trying to get in touch with Blackberry. Who better than one of the chaps who handles their public relations? To this end I've made the PR people the story. So now and again I'll be running features here and on Mobile Industry Review about the people behind the news. First up, I managed to grab the very same Alexis Dalrymple along with colleagues Lauren and Dom (from sister agency, 33 Digital) and got them to say hi on camera.
