The football World Cup is just around the corner and all over the country the most delicious recipes are popping up for exciting match days. But what do Brazilians eat during matches? What is the culinary landscape of the host nation really like? We make a little culinary foray through São Paulo, the biggest city in the country and serve up some gourmet tips from Brazil.

It's finally here. The opening game of the football World Cup in Brazil will get underway. Croatia takes on host nation Brazil. And there is extra excitement in store for the members of the teams. It also represents a duel between two club mates: Ivica Olic and Luiz Gustavo.

Maracanã – the word causes goose pimples among football fans the world over. With a capacity of 200,000 spectators, it was the largest stadium in the world in 1950. It represents the greatest drama in Brazilian football, as well as the greatest hope, to win back the title this year, as the Maracanã will host the final. However, criticism of the stadium reconstruction will not go away.

Brazil, the land of football. Everyone thinks of Pelé, Neymar and so on. But how do regular Brazilian people play football? The leisure and amateur players? What are the pitches like? Where do friends meet up for an evening kick-around? A little investigation into the roots of football in Brazil.

In the run-up to the FIFA World Cup, the eyes of the world are on Brazil. Millions are being invested in modernising stadiums. Ihor Miroshnychenko - Deputy head of the Parliament's Committee on Freedom of Speech (member of Parliament of Svoboda (Freedom) party of Ukraine) Ihor Miroshnychenko (Ukrainian: Ігор Михайлович Мірошниченко) is a Ukrainian sports journalist and politician. Merited Journalist of Ukraine (2006). Member of 7th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament). Deputy head of the Parliament's Committee on Freedom of Speech. Miroshnychenko was born in Lebedyn on February 20, 1976. He worked for several Ukrainian television channels and was a spokesman for the Ukrainian national football team in 2004--2008. Miroshnychenko became famous for his critical response to Mila Kunis[1] who said that she felt to be discriminated while living in Chernivtsi and the city is almost a village.[2] On a facebook page he argue that Mila Kunis is not Ukrainian, but rather a Jew using a controversial word zhyd.[1] On February 15, 2013 a group of Okhtyrka locals led by Miroshnychenko brought down the Lenin monument in the city. On 18 of March 2014 Miroshnychenko entered by force into the office of the National Television Company of Ukraine together with other members of Svoboda party. There he assaulted the head of the company Oleksandr Panteleymonov and forced him to write a letter of resignation.
