I just got a djembe last November and I wrote this melody on the day my divorce was finalized near the beginning of October. I decided to create a full arrangement and that is what you see here. I'm playing my Taylor 12-string, Tysco bass (refinished), Schalloch djembe, Yamaha orchestral bells and various other percussion I made by hand (claves, tomtom, small gong).

Set in the gutters of an industrial town, Play With Fire follows the unsettling life of Christian. His best friend, Joel - a flailing megalomaniac - pushes him into a corner by getting him involved in a scheme crossing the wrong people. The love of his life, Melody, gives him the chance to start over by leaving town with her. This is where Christians story of twisted loyalty, love and loss begins. Play With Fire started as an untitled script that Soren Johnstone wrote while living in Trail, BC in the winter of 2006. The small, industrial, mountain town gave him ample inspiration to write a dark, dramatic screenplay about the choices people make growing up in this setting. Zack Borer loves music. Zack loves to sing his songs. Armed with a voice and a guitar, Zack has found a way to connect with people through his own experiences. Although he's been playing for years, it wasn't until he seriously started writing that he became aware of the ability to express himself through melody and song. Drawing from influences ranging from Motown, funk, pop, and jazz, Zack has spent the last 4 years developing a unique vocal style that suits him as an artist. Playing constantly around the US and abroad, he has landed in the Northeast basing himself out of New York City. With tour plans, and the release of new music on a monthly basis, 2009 is shaping up to be the year he's been waiting for. As Zack says, "a little patience makes things easier to find."

He shot these images during his stay in India (Ooty, Kerala, Mysore, Goa). Dieter is an artist, musician, photographer, indologist, linguist, philosopher and humanist. Dieter has composed more than sixty musical pieces for piano. Check out his website www.citrakala.com I have used my own composition “Journey One” in this video, using Dieters´ images of India. The music genre is “Indo-Flamenco-Guitar-Percussion”. The melody is influenced by “Raagas”, the classical Indian music and the Flamenco guitar playing. It´s like a “journey on the routes to the roots”. In this composition I have played the guitar and the percussion simultaneously (like they do in flamenco). Enjoy this. Cheers!
