Japan. The land of Toyota, samurais, anime, the Nintendo Wii. These days I have come to realize that americans, including a few around myself, have a fond image of Japan. I find it surprising that people feel this way when Japan is a nation the US nuked back in WWII following Japan's launch of a surprise attack on pearl harbor which incited the war. Since then, Japan's thirst for territorial expansion still hasn't been quenched and she is currently involved in territorial disputes with China over Diaoyudao, Russia over the Kuril archipelago, and Korea over Dokdo. Japan is enforcing territorial rights even though historical evidence and effective dominance prove wrong. Japan is using every possible means to try and distort history. Maybe the US should intervene once more to set things right.

That Natzy Nuisance is an astonishing slapstick comedy used as feel good American propaganda during the most intense moments of World War II. With subject matter that could never be released today, the dunces of this hilarious show are Hitler, Mussolini, and Suki Yaki (who’s essentially Emperor Hirohito). Typical of excellent comedies, forget the plot: this film is all about watching Hitler and Mussolini having a pillow fight! Bobby Watson is the best Hitler impersonator Hollywood has ever had, and his ridiculously exaggerated representation is priceless. That Natzy Nuisance is magnificent in many ways, being a riotous slapstick comedy and also jaw dropping propaganda meant to give some good cheer to a nation imperiled by war.

In its time, "The Birth of a Nation" was a masterpiece. Its racist undertones and revisionism are quite disturbing, but it is still worth watching for its historical influence.

This episode of the Longines Chronoscope with Frank Knight featured Kenneth B. Keating, a U.S. Representative from New York. He is part of the House Judiciary committee, and explains that the Justice Department is involved with all legal matters of the government and has broadened its scope to become one of the biggest parts of the federal government. One of the biggest surprises the committee found was that the attorney general had appointed an employee to search the department. This same employee was currently under investigation regarding corruption. Once a regime can control the police and justice department, there is not much of the interior left to keep a nation from falling completely to totalitarianism. He promotes giving more power to the states and letting the states decide what is best.
