Sakaki Makio es el hijo del jefe de una de las bandas de yakuzas más importantes de Japón, los Colmillos Afilados. Siempre ha llevado una vida superficial, nada más alla de su fuerza y destreza en las peleas. A sus 27 años Sakaki demuestra que no es muy inteligente y que su mente no va más alla de pensar durante 90 segundos. Su padre le dice que para heredar el cargo de líder en la banda, debe volver al instituto y sacarse el graduado escolar que no se sacó en su día. De lo contrario, su hermano Mikio será el jefe.
Aquí comienza la serie, donde Makio debe hacerse pasar por un estudiante de 17 años y ponerse al nivel académico de éstos, lo que lleva a situaciones muy divertidas que se desarrollan a lo largo de los 10 episodios que componen la serie.
