The Hottest Car Convention of the Year Goes GreenEach year thousands of automotive customizers and tuners, as well as media and celebrities attend the Specialty Equipment and Marketers Association Convention (SEMA) in Las Vegas. The 37 billion dollar a year industry unveils the hottest and latest technology and equipment to help pimp their rides. But this year it's not all about bigger and faster.
Always on top of the latest trends, the convention is going green. Tuners in the market have begun researching E85, because it has a lot of octane capability. Ethanol is giving the green light to those who love to go fast. By buying E85 you are buying 100 octane racing fuel, which is also a biofuel.
Celebrities are also choosing to be environmentally efficient. Jay Leno, a self-confessed "car nut," is showing off his latest Corvette, modified to run on the bio-fuel, E85 ethanol, made from corn.
