Chinedu "Edu" Obasi Ogbuke (born June 1, 1986) is a Nigerian footballer. He plays as a striker for German club 1899 Hoffenheim, and has made nine appearances for the Nigerian national football team.
"Edu", as he is also known, came to Norway at the same time as his countryman John Obi Mikel. Chinedu impressed in the Under-20 World Championships in Holland in the summer of 2005, and scored both in the semi-final and the final, (which Nigeria lost to Argentina). On December 20 a transfer deal was announced with Lokomotiv Moscow[1] and Ogbuke was set to move to the Russian side in January. The deal was derailed, however, when the president, sporting director and manager of Lokomotiv were all fired six days later.
On August 27, 2007 Edu moved to 1899 Hoffenheim for an undisclosed fee
