Muzaffarabad, October 19: Kashmiris who left their hearth and home in Jammu and Kashmir are ruing the day they fell prey to Pakistan’s lure of a promised land. Instead of jobs and education for their children and a better life they have ended up in shanties that dot the Muzaffarabad landscape.

This work was a commission for the Extreme Building Festival in Birmingham City Centre. Drawing on Daniel Beard's seminal 1914 work "Shelters, Shacks and Shanties", I created conceptual models for dwelling in the mythological city
