Most of the drum parts for older Kicks songs were actually written by the lead singer, and that contributes to the floor tom-heavy sound. Aaron talks about how the bass drum and floor tom reverse roles in the French Kicks' music. Also watch Aaron at sound check and then show a beat that uses the rim of the snare drum as a hi hat. Aaron Thurston is the drummer for tour machines The French Kicks. He's toured the world in jazz groups but was flexible enough to switch over to the rock world.
A Coca Cola ad with The Lion and The Mouse. The mouse gets caught by the lion and begs for mercy. He is released and promises to help the lion someday. Later - the mouse gnaws through the rope on the hunter's snare and saves the trapped lion, tangled in the hunter's net. The lion and the mouse enjoy a cool refreshing coke after it is all over.
