A full playthrough of Nintendo's Yoshi's Cookie for the SNES. Game completed on hard mode with no save states. Yoshi's Cookie is a puzzle game made by Nintendo. It's not one of their headliners like Panel De Pon or Dr Mario, but it's still a pretty fun game. Additionally, the multiplayer mode is probably the most intense of ANY puzzle game ever made, which is why I picked it. Make no mistake, this is war, and it's never over until the very end. The name of the game here is to rotate the cookies Rubik's Cube style to create a whole row of the same type. For every match, you gain some Yoshi Cookies, and making a whole row of them allows you to invoke a special effect as shown under your name. It might not be obvious, but the task I set for myself (to beat the entire game without changing characters or losing, without using Bowser) is ridiculously difficult, because this game has some pretty substantial matchup dynamics and Bowser is clearly overpowered. I chose Yoshi because he's pretty well the only other character who has a chance of beating Bowser, even though he's not the best against the others. It may look like I'm really good at this game in this video, but it's really more like after 15+ attempts I just got really lucky. Part 2 of a playthrough of Capcom's The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse for the SNES. Game completed on Hard Mode with no continue. Part 2 covers 3-3 to the end of the game. The Magical Quest is another platforming game from the Capcom Disney series. This time it stars Disney Superstar Mickey Mouse, but other than that it's not too different from the others. In this game, Mickey has the ability to change into different outfits, which are necessary to overcome certain obstacles or fight certain enemies. This is not a terribly difficult game, though playing it on Hard Mode makes it a fair bit tougher (you start with one less heart and there are more enemies). Getting the magic powerup on 3-3 is absolutely vital, beyond that point the rest of the game really isn't too hard. This is a somewhat unbalanced game in that the hardest part is clearly the first two worlds where you have very little health. The Emperor's powerful magic has never been defeated. When it comes to racing games, few are as chaotic as Mario Kart, so this seemed like a logical choice for a video. I decided to go with the N64 version due to its age and the fact that I've become extremely rusty at the SNES game. The first thing that becomes apparent is just how much the Mario Kart series has changed since then. First of all, the controls are very different, it took me a long time to get my Powersliding down again, but the far greater difference is in the way weapons operate. The weapon roulette is far less balanced towards your current position, you'll notice I can get Lightning Bolts in 3rd and Super Mushrooms in 2nd. The other big difference is that the computer doesn't use all of the weapons, I never have a single Red Shell or Blue Shell fired my way. They make up for this by being way faster than you are, but as long as you smack them back down every time they catch up, maintaining the lead actually isn't too hard.
