New picture book tells the tale of a mouse who strives to save a personâs life
Tappan, NY â May 26, 2009 â Sometimes we find hope through persons we least expect- though in this case, it is through a mouse! Be touched and amused in Eileen M. Fotiâs charming childrenâs book, Mousey and the Fireman.
Mousey and the Fireman tells the story of a mouse who, in his own little way, tries to save a firefighterâs life amidst the September 11 tragedy. In his mission to save victims of the tragedy, Robert, a fire fighter wakes up in a seemingly dark basement, his body trapped under piles of rubble. A brown mouse curiously approaches the manâs weak body. The little creature seems nice so Robert gives him a name- Mousey. The two spend long hours together. Although injured, Robert does not lose hope. But with only a little mouse as company, is there even a chance for survival? Will Mousey be able to save the heroâs life, and become a hero himself?
