These videos that I've been posting are from a holiday I took in August of 07. I spent some time in Hervey bay, on a boat, stalking the whales that visit the area. Having spent the winter in the Great Barrier reef, giving birth to their calves, they journey down the coast of Australia returning to the Antarctic for the summer. The vessel was the Moon Dancer, and a small group of us had paid to volunteer to help with the research undertaken by Trish and Wally Franklin PhD. The Oceania project is studying the transitory Humpback whale population in Hervey bay, Queensland, Australia. Anyone can sign up to help out with the research. We entered on the north end of Hamlet, at the Yellow Submarine dive shop. visibility was awful, but we were treated to several cruising Tarpon and a number of very active cleaning stations. You can find one of Bonaire's few underwater walls. Pretty dive. Species seen: Bar Jack, Black Grouper, Brown Bowl Sponge, Cubera Snapper, Feather Duster Worm, Great Barracuda, Horse-eye Jack, Juvenile Spotted Drum, Rope Sponge, Schoolmaster, Sergeant Major, Smallmouth Grunt, Smooth Trunkfish, Tarpon, Tiger Grouper, Whitespotted Filefish.

Projectile pyrotechnics may be dropped from aircraft, fired from rocket or artillery, or deployed by handheld percussive tubes. Flares may also be dropped in the water to illuminate submerged objects.In the civilian world, flares are commonly used as distress signals, and may be ignited on the ground or fired as an aerial signal from a pistol-like flare gun. Flare guns are commonly found in marine survival kits.
