For well-known Christian author Jennifer Rees Larcombe from Kent, UK, life was shattered when a severe attack of viral encephalitis left her disabled and dependent on a wheelchair in 1982. Coming to terms with her condition was a battle but she persevered; and for 8 years she helped others in similar difficulties. Then quite unexpectedly she was healed instantly when a young lady prayed for her. Another battle began — this time to adjust to her healing. George Patterson, a young, wheelchair-bound African-American man who was arrested by police on suspicion of selling drugs at Second Avenue and Pike Street this past January, has accused two Seattle Police Department officers of planting evidence and physically assaulting him while he was in custody. After bending him over his wheelchair in a choke hold, Patterson says, officers transported him to SPD's West Precinct in downtown Seattle, where Officer Greg Neubert beat him while his partner Michael Tietjen looked on.

From 1956, this is another film with Shemp Howard. The stooges are taking care of their invalid friend Mary who is confined to wheelchair. At their jobs in a theater, where they hope to earn money for an operation for Mary, they witness a hypnotist, doing his act. The stooges become subjects for his show and are hypnotized into walking out on a flagpole high above the ground. When they come out of their trance and realize their predicament they fall into a window and foil a robbery in progress thus earning reward money to pay for Mary's operation.
