Skin cancer patients whose childhood included periods of neglect or maltreatment are at a much greater risk for their cancers to return when they face a major stressful event, based on a new study. The research suggests that such experiences during a person’s youth can set a lower level of immune response for life, which in turn might make them more susceptible to the kind of cancers that are often successfully fought by the immune system, so-called immunogenic tumors. While the research focused on patients with a fairly benign form of skin cancer -- basal cell carcinoma (BCC) -- the findings appear as a warning for patients to be more vigilant in concerns over their health for the rest of their lives. The study appears in the June 4, 2012, issue of the journal Archives of General Psychiatry and is the latest in three decades of research linking stress and immunity that have been led by investigators at Ohio State University’s Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research (IBMR).

Being a great mom requires an around-the-clock effort. No one knows this better than Lorrie Wolfe who was named America’s Most Inspirational Mom, through a pursuit conducted by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). Wolfe’s ascension caps a nationwide search launched last November by Lucille O’Neal, BGCA and longtime partner Kimberly-Clark Corporation, which will yield her a full-tuition scholarship to University of Phoenix where she will major in Criminal Justice. Wolfe from Hickory, N.C. is a single mother of three including raising one child with Asperger’s Syndrome. She will soon celebrate her seventh anniversary as a domestic violence survivor. Her children have watched the family flee a physically abusive household with no money, transportation or job, to a safe environment in a loving home, with a car and food in the refrigerator. Regardless of her situation, Wolfe has always encouraged her kids to think big and to work hard in pursuit of their dreams. She works fulltime at the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Hickory as a Project Coordinator with at-risk youth. Euromed Youth Exchange This report is about the youth exchange activity in South Lebanon to bridge the gaps between young people in different countreis, with participation of Lebanon, Greece, Finland and Palestine. The Palestinian girl was describing the carrcateur character "Hanzala" and what it means to Palastinians .. Eleni from HAI Greece, despite of her concern about all the troubles in her country (as the report says) she's also interested to spread the culture of peace and how other nations should reach the best use of democacy, as people in Europe are also fighting everyday for the same values of democracy as well! Then they moved to a TV interview with the president of the Lebanses NGO "Amel" asking him if they found any difficulties in making this activity come true, he said that mainly Arabs go to the west for such activities but in this one we care to bring friends from Greece and Finland under the title "Meet our cultures" to recognize the current situation in Lebanon and Palestine specially after the Israeli attack on 2006 and it was a very successful meeting and how supporting was the Greeks and Finnish to our case, specially that a Finnish officer was killes in that attack on 2006 which was very touching for all the groups participating .. We have to continue such meetings and activities for how useful and supportive to bridge the gap among different countries specially young generations .. She asked him why don't u involve younger kids or older people in such effevtive activities, he said yes we are about to make another organization for youngesters between 15 - 18 of age coordinating with Portugal for coming common activities.
