Didn't notice the lame crack message (ooh he can use a hex editor) until after I filmed this. But this is a classic game released in 1983.

I got my XM1541 cable in the mail today and hooked up one of my Panasonic Toughbooks to a 1541-II floppy. I tried using Linux first but the opencbm code required a kernel driver to be inserted and all kinds of nonsense. Sounded annoying. So I downloaded the Windows version. Which was almost as annoying, really. But it did finally work. Here's the laptop talking to the floppy drive.

This one walked right through our yard. I had a beautiful shot at it, and decided to use the camera. ;)

Several things strike me about this commercial: were we really that dorky? (Probably.) There is exactly one black guy in the commercial, but if you close your eyes and listen ("mmm-hmmm") they are clearly trying to reach that audience. Maybe two black people on screen would have been too scary? Also, it looks like these things used about a pound of styrofoam apiece.
