After practicing Video 5, people should be able to recall or imagine a traumatic event without experiencing disturbing feelings. The traumatic event can be remembered from the past, experienced in the present as a flashback, or imagined in the future as a threat. If the original traumatic event created fear, the fear of re-experiencing this fear can result in escalating panic attacks that can be interrupted with emotional tuning.
