As I walked through the streets in China, I came across many people practicing their calligraphy in public places. The calligrapher's work is a poetic meditation that reveals one's personality. This ancient tradition is regarded as the most abstract and sublime form of art in Chinese culture. In China's public spaces, many people practice by dipping their large brushes in water and creating ephemeral works of art on the sidewalks.

In this talk Bhante Vimalaramsi gives the full instructions for practicing the breath meditation AS THE BUDDHA taught it. The Buddha did not teach one-pointed concentration which is currently taught by Vipassana teachers, but rather a "knowing of the breath" meditation. One does not focus on the sensation but on knowing of the breath. Then a step is added, as directed by the Anapanasati Sutta MN 118 and the Sathipatthana Sutta, which is to recognize and then RELAX into any distractions. Please see the talk for more details. This is very important.

Aya Peard's project was a reunion of sorts for this group of very talented musicians. Singer/songwriter Aya Peard assembled the group that hadn't played together in over five years. With Phil Kettner on guitar, Michael Renninger on bass and Paul Pellegrin on drums and percussion, Aya Peard sang her heart out in our studio. Aya is a spiritual individual, practicing yoga on a daily basis. With the voice of an angel, Aya spreads her warm energy and mystical sounds to all those listening. Her songs are heart-felt, drawing from experiences of love and pain. The dreamy mood of their music will send you floating off to distant lands. Hen House Studios was pleased to be the place where Aya Peard's music was discovered once again.

Ven. Dhammananda 08 –Emotion & Practice The result of practicing meditation when confronted with intense emotional issues.

OMG I’m so happy I finally get to see them taste real food for the first time. They first takes taste tests of everything in their environment. They sort of digging the bedding/pushing it away, looking and sniffing as in, looking for something below. Not for long I noticed they chew on mommy’s bits I then hurriedly made some chopped vegetables. Their real first food, chopped vegetables. LOL I’ve lowered the bottle water making sure they are able to reach it. It’s so cute to see them learn how to carry the food with their two paws, while practicing on their balancing act. Babies are also forming some early exercise habits by flexing and stretching his tiny little legs. Isn’t they cute or what. Oh oh... few more days to go and I’m able to hold them. I’m excited. As for mommy she is still on her high fiber food with 1-2 drops of liquid vitamins specific for hamsters daily.
