The Times of India “A Day in the Life of Chennai” advertisement won the historic first Cannes Golden Lion for a film from India. It was produced by Good Morning films (www.goodmorningfilms.com) The main crew that set out to shoot this film was not unlike a task force from the UN. UP-ite, Bengali, Punjabi, Parsi, Malayalee, Hyderabadi, Englishman from Australia and Germany and of course Tamilians of Chennai all comprised the backgrounds of the chief technicians of this film. Jason West (of “Rock on” fame) was entrusted with shooting the Times Of India film and the music was produced by Vijay Anthony and sung by the renowned female folk singer Chinnaponnu. The location used was Kasimedu - Chennai’s Dharavi, Dongri and Kamatipura all rolled into one. Surprisingly this underbelly of Chennai proved to be not only the most exciting but also the most cooperative and accommodating for our shoot. The cutouts from the ad ranged from 12 to 50 feet! With the monstrous size of 50 feet also came the nightmarish logistics that were minor issues compared to the fact that all cut outs (except those of the ruling party) were banned from being put up in the city of Chennai! Some swift maneuvering so in some cases, we had to just had to sneak in, get our shots and get out without disrupting normal activity and attract unwanted attention! The official permission letter for shooting on the various public locations across Chennai reached us only on Day 2 of the shoot and that too with allotted time slots which were the complete opposite of what was requested in the shooting plan submitted to the cops! Brilliant maneuvering by the production team and some kamikaze shooting techniques adapted by director Bob and DOP Jason resulted in some of the memorable shots and moments of the film.

I was just about to call it a night when this mature buck walked under my stand. I had to use my night vision for this nocturnal old buck that seemed to sense I was within 15 yards of him. He was also a defiant foe of the Pro-Life movement. In 1991, protests at Tiller's clinic and others in WIchita mushroomed into a conservative takeover of Kansas' Republican Party. Viewing abortion as murder proved incredibly galvanizing in Wichita, motivating many people who'd never been involved in politics before. Tragically, the flip side of this worldview - any means may be justified to stop a mass-murderer - led to Tiller's shooting death on May 31, 2009. This act was widely condemned by activists on all sides of the abortion issue.

While filming a horror movie of mummy in a forest, the students and their professor of the University of Pittsburgh hear on the TV the news that the dead are awaking and walking. Ridley and Francine decide to leave the group, while Jason heads to the dormitory of his girlfriend Debra Monahan. She does not succeed in contacting her family and they travel in Mary's van to the house of Debra's parents in Scranton, Pennsylvania. While driving her van, Mary sees a car accident and runs over a highway patrolman and three other zombies trying to escape from them. Later the religious Mary is depressed, questioning whether the victims where really dead, and tries to commit suicide, shooting herself with a pistol. Her friends takeg her to a hospital where they realize that the dead are indeed awaking and walking and they need to fight to survive while traveling to Debra's parents house.

John Orlando began his career in entertainment writing and editing a magazine for Disney Channel where he caught the film bug. He went on to be a creative executive at Codikow Films and then took a job at the William Morris Agency where he worked for 2 1/2 years in the feature and television literary departments. John left WMA to get back into development, working in features development at John Wells Productions and subsequently at United Artists until the studio's restructuring in 2005. My name is Rysan Fall. I have been a member of Second Life since Dec 2nd, 2007. I have only been making machinima since February 2008 and already the response to my work has been overwhelming. I got the idea to do it because I am novice video editor in real life and I thought Second Life would be a great place to practice shooting some scenes then applying that to real world. I am basically a one man production company, producing commercials, short films and personal videos for customers inworld. I would have to say the video that got me noticed was "Number one crush" (Aurrora's present for Diaz) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFwYk8... She wanted me to make a video of her for her "partner" on Second Life. The response to my work after that was very positive with people wanting special personalized videos and commercials for businesses inworld. I started "Fall Films" in March of 2008 and since then I have completed 21 videos. Many of them can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/FallFilms In all my videos I have one common element, I try include a peice of reality in every single one. I film, direct, and edit everything myself along with coming up with the concept for each video. I love machinima ...I was doing it before I even knew there was a whole new genre of video dedicated to it. And I hope to be as good as some of the other seasoned machinimators Ive seen out there such as Madame Zhora and Baron Soosdon, to name a few. I was really impressed with Trace/Tracechops/LainyVoom for her work on "The Dumb Man." Simply incredible. I am inspired by them. Thats why I will always try to top my last video...because if I can do that , I will only get better. I am proud be part of this new and exciting style of film making. A friend and I decided to go out into the backyard and shoot a bottle at close range and then slow it down to see what happens. You can't see the bullet but it is still pretty funny.

Just a random moment of shooting at a lake. Supposedly I was out to make a small funny clip for "Priceless Master Card" commercial. But I ended up with this! Turn out, this isn't too bad. =) Thanks to my friend, Michael, for an awesome act. (No experiences) I was impressed and flattered for many compliments. As an amateur and a beginner.. far most, this is the best I've ever made with not much effort. I'm loving my Nikon D90, it's the first SLR with movie mode.
