THE DELIBERATE DESTRUCTION OF BRITISH INVESTMENT IN TANZANIAIn 2004 Benjamin Mengi sold the lease to Silverdale & Mbono Farms in the Hai District of the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania to British investors Stewart Middelton and Sarah Hermitage. The assignment was lawful on all respects and Mengi issued a receipt for the full receipt of funds due to him. Ine year later he began nrgotiating with another investor Kinrad Legg owning Tudeley Estates, to sell the lease to him a second time. Mengi demanded that the investors hand back the lease. When they refused, he stated he would drive the investors out of Tanzania if necessay cut to pieces in a coffin. One of the investors staff wasindee cur to piecees with a machette and the investors fled Tanzania four years later due to abuse, intimidation and violence instigated by Mengi and facilitated by the organs of the Tanzanian state in situ to protect it's citizens i.e. the police, and judiciary.
