With rain in the forecast I decided to go to the woods in search of big bucks and I wasn't disappointed. I spotted a doe out in a field and @ least 2 coyotes 150 yards down wind of her. I was hoping to catch them in action but the doe spotted me and bolted for cover. As I watched the many birds around my blind today I had to wonder if the deer activity would be as good. I was able to capture some video of a Red -Tailed Hawk & the Downy Woodpecker that visits frequently. The main frame 10 point buck with a sticker point on his left brow tine & a sticker near his Right G-3 & between his Right G-3 & G-4 came from the North in the corn and went East to the apple trees. He appeared to be trying to get down wind of me & the decoy I have set out. He is well educated by now, I believe this is the same buck I rattled in on November 4. I believe this is also the same buck that came into my decoy the 1st time I set it out in October. He came from the same spot in the corn to the North every time I have seen him. November 5 2009 Lake County Illinois 6:55am. Wind WNW 6mph. 38 degrees. Clear, Barometer 30.32 Steady, Fullmoon 97% of the Moon is Illuminated.Rattling in BIG Whitetail Bucks in November . I rattled the antlers at dawn & by 6:55am a small 9 pointer came from the West through the slew bed when over to the South tree line to check scrapes and than back North my way through the corn to the edge of the field I am set up on.He to a good look at the deer decoy and got a whiff of the James Valley dominant buck lure that I had circled the property with and ran off to the South West through the slew bed back to where he came from, He stopped to look back at about a 100 yards out and was gone! It was about 15 minutes late when I seen the nice main frame 9 pointer that has a sticker point on his Left G-2 traveling East between the tree line and the corn field to the South. He also went into the woods to check scrapes in the same location the 9 pointer did. He than came North through the corn field, up the same trail that the small 9 pointer did. This nice buck was not intimidated by the deer decoy or the dominant buck lure. He came within 10 yards of my blind but I let him walk. He proceeded to circle the field not responding to the grunt that I was trying to get a reaction out of him with Although my scent was blowing directly to him he did not seem the least bit bothered by it. he than headed North across the yards to the corn and West down the tree line......Captured ONLY on www.HawgNSonsTV.Com

November 4 2009 Lake County Illinois 4:25pm. Wind SSE 2mph. 41 degrees. Cloudy light rain on & off , Barometer 30.23 falling, Fullmoon 97% of the Moon is Illuminated. Boone & Crockett Whitetail Buck Bow Hunting Harvest. This would be a day I will remember well for the rest of my life. I rattled the antlers at dawn & by 6:30am a big main frame 10 pointer with some sticker tines around the base came out of the corn field from the North, when I finally seen him he was standing angled to me 20 yards away angle towards me. He had a stalk of corn hanging from his antlers and I thought it was a massive drop tine. He ran off to the South West through the slew bed where I see most of the deer travel. It was a quiet afternoon until I decided to try another rattling sequence at 4:20pm. Within 5 minutes the big main frame 12 pointer with the stickers on his G-2's that I had videos of on October 9th appeared to the North along the corn field. He was smelling the James Valley dominant buck lure that I had circled the property with. He was looking at the deer decoy that I had set out to the NorthEast of my blind. His hair on his back was raised as he circled my blind and proceeded up the trail that I hade cut that run angled away from my blind from the corn field to the clover field with apple trees in the decoys direction. Bow Hunting Boone & Crockett Whitetail Buck. It was a great night in the palace blind. I seen a Monster Whitetail Buck that came within 13 yards at 5:01pm and fed for about 7 minutes then headed off to the South. I rattled antlers to try to bring him in where I could film the shot & about 20 minutes later he came right back down the same path to within 10 yards. Unfortunately he was looking straight into the window that I did get some video out of, so I didn't want to chance giving away my location. Tonight the winds have calmed from the 25mph gusts the last couple days. At 6:02pm a doe & her fawn approached from the South West and milled around in the corn for about 15 minutes. They came to within 13 yards of my blind before they turned and headed West. It wasn't 20 minutes later and a nice 10 pointer came through and basically followed their path. It's been a tuff week trying to find big Whitetail bucks. This morning I still hunted through the Oaks that run through a massive swamp. Its closer to that time of year when the wildlife is everywhere, feeding heavily preparing for the long winter months ahead. A Raccoon didn't seem to know where he wanted to go. The Canada Geese didn't look as though they minded my presence but the Wood Ducks have never gotten used to my frequent walks through the Oak knoll bordering their pond. Then I seen a buck with several does I have seen and filmed several times this past summer, he looks bigger now than when he was in velvet. As proceeded on, it was obvious the deer were on the move, as the flash of white tails caught my eye off in the swamp. As I glassed the area two racks appeared off in the distance. As I positioned a big bush between me & the Bucks I quickly moved closer I could see it was a nice 9 pointer that I have videos of in velvet & I could see it was the beautiful deer that I now call Buddy. Buddy was not able to confirm it was me because I was not upwind of him, As friendly as Buddy is to me, he didn't want to stick around to long without my scent confirmation. August 11 2009 Lake County Illinois 7:49pm. Wind NNE 6mph. 70 degrees. Partly Cloudy, Chance of Thunder Storm 10% Barometer 30.01 Steady,Running Down Big Whitetail Bucks on Foot. So I'm up in Kenosha Wisconsin talking to the landowner of a newly acquired hunting spot and my buddy Brian Smith of http://www.Smith-Printing.Com calls and informs me that he is watching 5 Whitetail Bucks, 3 of which are Big, out in the alfalfa field at his Big buck hotspot at 7:22pm. I arrive where Brian is waiting at 7:46pm and he directs me to where he last seen the group of bucks. I run a quarter mile through the Oaks to the edge of a field of Oats where I think the Bucks will be. Glassing the field, I am unable to see the deer at that time because of the hilly terrain. I Slowly proceed through the Oats towards the alfalfa where I believe the bucks will be. At the same instant I spot the 3 Big Bucks they spot me. As all the bucks bolt for the cover of the Oaks I decide right than the chase has just began. Wanting to test the results of my intense conditioning regiment that I have implemented over the summer just for pursuing Big Whitetail Bucks on foot, I broke out in a dead run after them. As I ran through the Oats, down through the Corn & to the corner of the Oaks, I picked up there trail at full speed. After hurdling a barb wire fence an unbelievable surge of adrenalin pumped through me, enough to launch me over a creek bottom and now back within sight of the group of bucks. By now I had ran well over a mile and a half and was hot on the trail of the bucks. As they ran up a steep hill, I could see them tiring and when they had to stop at the summit, gasping for air, all my beliefs were confirmed...I am thee Hawg in the Game!....Captured ONLY on www.HawgNSonsTV.Com

Big 19 Point Non Typical Buck in the Soybean Field. With the end of summer rapidly approaching, the big bucks are getting harder & harder to find. The velvet is drying and getting close to being striped & the mature bucks are waiting until later & later in the evening to venture out in the open to feed. It's also the time of year when the mature bucks start to become more and more scarce as if they know hunting season is rapidly approaching. Road Hunting with a video camera for Big Whitetail Bucks in velvet . I was headed to the field in pursuit of trophy whitetail bucks when I received a call from Brain Smith of www.Smith-Printing.Com. Brian spotted a couple nice bucks in a field close to where we hunt. In my effort to document as many whitetail bucks in the area as possible, I instruct every person willing, to call me immediately upon spotting ANY large whitetail bucks.(THAT ALSO MEANS YOU ) When I arrived the 10 pointer was running North as the bigger 9 pointer stood in front of a island of trees. I moved closer as I watched them feed East on the North side of the island of trees. As I slowly moved through the weeds looking into the island of trees, I spotted a buck standing off to the East. As I still hunted along a creek, glassing out into the swamp for antlers moving through the Cattails and Reedgrass, the flash of velvet antlers moving North through the tall grasses grabbed my attention. As the big 10 point Whitetail Buck crossed paths with me, I could see it was the beautiful deer that I now call Buddy. Buddy was not able to confirm it was me because I was not upwind of him, But I am sure he had a pretty good idea from my voice and the HawgNSons Unlimited True Timber Camouflage Cap that he has seen me wear many times in the field. I didn't get out until 7:00pm and crossed paths with a nice buck & doe on the way to the soybean field. There were several deer in the bean field when I arrived, mostly 1.5 year old bucks. I checked a few big buck areas, unfortunately I didn't see the Big bucks I hoped to but I did see a young non typical buck in velvet that I never seen before. I went to the swamp this morning hoping to see the Big buck in the June 27 video. I decided to go check another urban hotspot for big Whitetail bucks this evening. I received confirmation of my hunch with the sighting of this group of bucks feeding in the soybean field. July 13 2009 Lake County Illinois, 7:48pm. Wind NE 0mph. 65 degrees. Clear, Barometer 30.11 Falling. Big Urban Whitetail Buck Hunting with a video camera. I decided to go down to my urban hotspot to look for big Whitetail bucks on this beautiful evening. It didn't take long to spot a nice buck bedded on the edge of the River. Fortunately this was a buck that I have spent some time with and he didn't feel threatened by me. Watch him scent check me as I move in closer. You can see me walk in front of the video camera to get some better pictures. I am able to get within 7 yards before he bounds off. This is the same buck as July 2 & 12 video. I spent the evening scouting another urban area that I haven't been to in a few week. it didn't take long to spot 3 bucks feeding along the side of a hill next to a swamp.My approach was blown as I tried to move closer and all I could do is watch them seek safety in the swamp. I circled around and spotted them on the South side of the swamp. The biggest of the bucks looks pretty healthy, I could see 1 sticker point on the left G-2 of a main frame 9 pointer........Captured ONLY on www.HawgNSonsTV.Com

July 12 2009 Lake County Illinois,Wind WNW 6mph. 55 degrees. 6:38am. Barometer 30.11 Steady Mostly Sunny. Deer and Deer Hunting with a video camera. I woke up with a throbbing headache so I decided to go down to my urban hotspot to look for big Whitetail bucks on this beautiful morning. It didn't take long to spot a nice buck feeding on the edge of the Oaks. I tried to sneak up on him but a crafty doe blew my cover. Fortunately this was another buck that I have spent some time with and he didn't feel threatened by me. I sat in the morning and didn't see a deer but I did see a few beautiful Goldfinches and whole lot of mosquitoes. In the evening I was able to stalk up on the buck that eluded me on June 27 morning. I was able to stalk up on the big 10 point buck and his companion a young 8 pointer. They were on the edge of some Oaks feeding there way back to the swamp.
