The first thing to realize is that not everybody is your market. Sure, many people may be able to benefit from your product, but that does not mean that they feel a need to buy it.

So, how do you find the people who are good prospects?
Lets take an example: For a weight loss product, your first step is to find out what kind of people are actively seeking to loose weight. They are people who are overweight and have used a weight loss product before. These people are your prospects, they make up your target market.
Your second step is to position yourself as an expert in your market. Find out all about your prospects, their needs and desires. What problems are they facing in their lives? What do they fear, what do they hope for? What are the key issues and words that make them respond?
Be very specific here, not general. The clearer you can define your market, the better.
When you talk to your prospect, he needs to feel that you understand him, and that he can trust you. Confidence and leadership are your keys to success.
